Nissan Qashquai 2025 Compact Sport Utility Vehicle

Andrew Wearne May 11, 2021

Nissan Qashquai 2025 Compact Sport Utility Vehicle

The new Nissan Qashqai made its way into Australia during the latter part of 2014 as a replacement for the 1st generation version known here as the Dualis.

This new sport utility vehicle arrived following its international debut that occurred in 2013 and shares the sharpened styling of its larger stablemate, the Nissan X-Trail.

Available in four trim grades, this new 2025 Qashqai range sees an end to all-wheel drive models with either diesel or petrol fuelled engines mated to six speed manual and CVT automatic transmissions.

This globally popular vehicle has a manufacturers suggested retail price starting from $27, 490

What’s Under the Hood?

The engine options that have been made available to the Australian market include a MR20 2.0 litre petrol engine that is able to produce 106kW and 200Nm, which is a minor increase over that of the outgoing model.

The fuel consumption for the Qashqai has been listed at 7.7 l/100km with the six speed manual form and 6.9 l/100km when combined with the CVT automatic transmission.

According to Nissan representatives, there are no plans for introducing to the australian market the 1.2 turbo 85kW and 1.6 turbo 110kW petrol engines available elsewhere.

The new Qashqai will be offered to consumers with the option of a 1.6 liter turbo diesel engine that will again produce 96kW and 320Nm, just as per the now out of production Dualis model.

This engine option will only be only paired with the automatic CVT transmission which will give it fuel figures that are listed at 4.9 l/100km.

The QASHQAI’s Awesome Design Features

Although Nissan offers 4X4 all-wheel drive model to other global regions the auto-maker states that at this stage only front wheel drive will be offered to the Australian auto market.

Nissan believe that the latter drive option will account for the vast majority of Qashqai sales in this country – something that has been proven true in other markets.

The chassis design platform of the new Qashqai is that of the Renault-Nissan ‘CMF’ modular and has a suspension that is managed by MacPherson struts in the front and one of a duo of arrangements in the rear.

The two wheel drive model sits on a twist beam design while models available overseas that feature all-wheel drive receive a multi-link set-up.

This Qashqai sport utility vehicle has received an electric power assisted steering system across the entire range with a lengthened caster trail in the front suspension for an improved amount of centering and improved feedback through the wheel.

The braked towing capacity for the new sport utility vehicle has been rated at 1200kg for the CVT petrol equipped models and 1400kg for the manual petrol and automatic only diesel models.

The following will inform you of the standard vehicles, as they are categorised by model:
